The second-hand marketplace Users Share Anger About Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she said.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
